No. 1: PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate)


A product made of this material is a common plastic bottle for soda, also commonly known as a "poly bottle":such as common mineral water bottles, carbonated beverage bottles, etc. But when the temperature reaches to 70°C, it is easy to deform, and some harmful substances are melted out.PET plastic product may release carcinogen DEHP after 10 months of use. Don't put it in the car to bask in the sun; don't put alcohol, oil and other substances. ER CHEM has a complete range of colorants for PET. PET coloring can be colored with pigments, such as CI Pigment Yellow 138, CI Pigment Yellow 147, CI Pigment Red 214, CI Pigment Red 242, etc., but more occasions are used Solvent dye coloring, see the table below for details:

No. 2: HDPE (High Density Polyethylene)

 

Bottles for detergents, shampoos, shower gels, edible oils, pesticides, etc. are mostly made of HDPE. The bottles are mostly semi-opaque and feel waxy. Common white medicine bottles, cleaning supplies, and bath products. Don't use it as a water cup or as a storage container for other items. If the cleaning is not thorough, do not recycle it. No. 3: PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride)

 

Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is a synthetic material with many advantages and is an ideal material for engineering plastics. Good chemical stability, resistant to acid, alkali and some chemicals. Moisture resistant, aging resistant, and flame retardant. The temperature cannot exceed 60°C during use, and it will become hard at low temperatures.

Polyvinyl chloride is mostly used to make water pipes, raincoats, school bags, building materials, plastic films, plastic boxes and other utensils. Common raincoats, building materials, plastic films, plastic boxes, etc. It has excellent plasticity and low price, so it is widely used and can only heat up to 81℃. It is easy to produce bad substances at high temperature, and it is rarely used for food packaging. Difficult to clean and easy to remain, do not recycle. Do not purchase if it contains drinks.

Polyvinyl chloride is divided into soft plastic and hard plastic. The soft ones are mainly made into films, which are used as packaging materials, rainproof products, agricultural seedling raising films, etc., as well as insulation layers for cables and wires, and artificial leather products. Rigid ones are generally made of pipes and plates. The pipes are used as water pipes and pipes for transporting corrosion-resistant fluids. The plates are used as the lining and floor of various storage tanks.

Other related: The natural color is yellowish translucent and shiny. Transparency is better than polyethylene and polystyrene, but worse than polystyrene. Depending on the amount of additives, it can be divided into soft and hard polyvinyl chloride. The soft products are flexible and tough, and the hand feels sticky. No. 5: PP (polypropylene)

 

Common PP products: basins, barrels, furniture, films, woven bags, bottle caps, car bumpers, etc.

(Common soymilk bottles, yogurt bottles, juice drink bottles, microwave lunch boxes. Melting point is as high as 167℃. It is the only plastic box that can be put in the microwave oven. It can be reused after careful cleaning. Note that some microwave lunch boxes, boxes The body is made of No. 5 PP, but the box cover is made of No. 1 PE. No. 6: PS (Polystyrene)

 

PS is transparent when it is not colored. PS products fall on the ground or beat, there is a metal-like crisp sound, gloss and transparency are very good, similar to glass, brittle and easy to break, fingernails can mark the surface of the product. Modified polystyrene is opaque.

Because of its low water absorption, PS is mostly used to make building materials, toys, stationery, rollers, and cups or disposable tableware for fast-food stores. Common products: stationery, cups, food containers, appliance shells, electrical accessories, bowls of instant noodle boxes, fast food boxes. Do not put it in a microwave oven to avoid the release of chemicals due to high temperature. After loading acid (such as orange juice) and alkaline substances, carcinogens will be decomposed. No.7 Other plastics

PC material products, such as water bottle, space cup, milk bottle. Department stores often use water cups made of this material. PA, that is, nylon, is mostly used for internal parts such as fiber textiles and some home appliances. PC easily releases toxic substance bisphenol A at high temperature, which is harmful to human body.
